The pattern is so distinctive that even non-hunters readily recognize it. Mossy Oak is America’s best known camouflage brand. It speaks to the outdoors and was introduced as a vehicle theme by Ram Brand in 2011. Now, it has returned to the lineup after a one-year hiatus and has more features incorporated in it than before.
Mossy Oak is headquartered in West Point, MS as part of Haas Outdoors, Inc., of West Point, MS. The company was formed in 1986 and has a portfolio of products are highlighted regularly through sponsorship of the Pursuit Channel’s True North Wednesday on shows such as “Fist Full of Dirt”. Focus of the company’s activities are the conservation aspects of hunting, some in coordination with the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Quality Deer Management Association.
Both Ram and Mossy Oak management are excited about the vehicle’s re-entry into the sport vehicle marketplace. Reid Bigland, president and ceo of the Ram truck brand explains that the company’s customers are passionate about hunting and fishing. He cited demographics the define 30% of these Ram owners as hunters, 44% fishermen, 27% boaters and 42% campers. Obviously, there is crossover among these categories.
