A gigantic alligator that’s believed to have killed several pet dogs in a Texas neighborhood has been shot dead.
The 13-foot beast, which weighed more than 1,000-pounds, was reportedly gunned down by Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden Morgan Inman in Jasper on Tuesday.
The gator, which had been reportedly lurking around the area for several months, needed to be shot more than a dozen times before it finally died, witnesses told KBMT.
Many residents expressed their relief that the critter had been killed.
However, Gator Country owner Gary Saurage said he wasn’t happy — as he’d been hoping since July to catch and move the animal to Gator County.
“I just wish I’d have gotten a little bit of professional courtesy and said ‘Hey listen, I got my eyes on this alligator. I’ll give you two days to catch or we’re gonna kill it,'” he told KBMT.
“This alligator had a home. That’s what’s disappointing about this,” he added.
