A very expensive catch.
Couple days ago, I started a morning trip off bad and it got worse, then a bit better. We arrived at the spot and anchored up. I reached for something near the engine and watched my Movado watch fly right off my wrist into the drink, 13 ft of water. I didn’t even feel it slide off, just watched it in slow motion it seemed.
OMG! I’m in BIG trouble when I get home. My clients both asked what fell in. I told them them and they both said “Ouch”. I felt like I was going to puke.
After I dropped my watch and my clients were doing their thing and catching fish on their own, I would go to the back of the boat and drag the bottom with my slab in figure 8′s, in 13 ft of water trying to get my watch back from the Lady of the lake. I pulled up braid, old mono line, old lures- 5 or so, a beer can, and then I got nailed! It took a lot of “time”, but I pulled back and landed the monster just in time. It was hanging from a thread, barely hooked.

As it fell to the bootom, the watch landed on old fishing line and got wraped in it somehow. I got very lucky this time.

Want a watch that is lost proof?
Cassio or Timex— since I started wearing cheaper watches fishing— never lost one.
