Tips for Terminating the Second Amendment

To terminate the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, you would have to work slowly, by eroding the traditions and values that founded this great country.

You would need to use news media to ignore positive uses of firearms, and only highlight tragedies of crime, exaggerate “gun” violence, and misrepresent facts.

You would need to dub scary looking firearms as “assault weapons” simply for cosmetic differences and push for bans without any factual data for crime use.

You would need to argue that the Second Amendment was only intended for the government and military, even though all the Amendments were ratified for “the people” to protect them from the government.

You would try to limit the Second Amendment to “muskets and weapons circa 1776″.  Just as First Speech is limited to the quill tipped pen and doesn’t extend to TV, press, radio and internet… (yes, another joke)

You would ignore original intent and call for bans on anything that isn’t used for “traditional hunting”, for “nobody needs a 30 round magazine!”

You would start a soft gun registration system but call it a National Instant Criminal Background System.

You would have to take away the notion of personal responsibility, instead blame inanimate objects.

You would create loosely defined phrases such as “assault weapons” in hopes that uninformed masses confuse it’s terminology with already banned and heavy regulated “assault rifles”.

You would use the mainstream media to falsely proclaim already banned and illegal firearms and “heavy weapons” are unregulated and unrestricted in calling for “more gun laws!”

You would fill the public’s mind with errant statements as “common sense gun laws” and “gun show loopholes”, when in fact, there is no such thing.

You would need to demonize gun owners, make them looks like crazy nuts instead of responsible patriots.

You would ban importation of thousands of collectable historic firearms such as the M1 Carbine with the delusional excuse of “They will end up on the streets!”.

You would illegally send firearms to bordering nations, wait for them to be used in crimes, then cry “See!  We need to ban guns!”

You would try to use backdoor legislation such as UN Treaties on the premise of “small arms importation” as a way to control private ownership of citizen’s arms and ammunition.

You would attempt to make ammunition difficult to purchase, banning all mail order and online sales, requiring photo ID’s and reporting volume purchases to the government.

You would take the most out of tragic crimes to enact knee-jerk legislation to ban the sale and ownership of ammunition, components, magazines, “assault weapons” and anything else you wish.  Heck, you might even consider staging certain events yourself.

You would never stop.  Nor will we.

MOLON LABE!

  1. I am newer to gun ownership, and honestly it scares me how hard they go after legal gun owners while doing nothing to curb the problem of illegal firearms. Basically, when you take the legal guns away, only the illegal ones remain. I’m going to share this.

    • Exactly Nathan, laws do nothing for criminals, just impose more restrictions on the responsible and law abiding folks.

    • And ths comes from an administration that funds our tax payer dollars to Hamas, supports Muslim brotherhood and does something as idiotic as fast and furious!

    • That, Nathan, is the paradox of “gun control”. When you look through all the mumbo-jumbo and all the legalese you come to the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from it all.

Gun control isn’t about guns, it’s about control.

      Just my thoughts,

  2. Loved your stand for the Lord on Top Shots. Definitely believe that what you say about the erosion of the 2nd Amendment is happening although ABC, MSNBC, CBS, NY Times will all deny any bias.

    Stay strong Dustin

  3. Way to go!!! Hope to see you at the range soon!!!! We need to be very vigilant on this subject. I am just one of many who will never let them take my guns away from me. We need to remember that our founding fathers wanted us to have guns so the government would not take over, so it would be limited. It is “We The People” not “We The Government” that makes America Free…

  4. I couldn’t have said it any better. The sad thing is that this is what’s happening to many of the amendments in our Constitution.

  5. Once again, the folks against the second amendment have taken the predictable step of trying to deal with law breakers by creating more laws. That is somewhat like drawing a new line in the sand every time the old one is crossed while doing nothing to the perpetrator. I find it interesting that many who wish to punish inanimate objects and law-abiding owners are also in the camp which rails against mandatory minimum sentences for criminals. I hope I live to see the return of personal responsibility but given all the apologists who would blame the tool rather than the user, I doubt that will happen.

  6. The really interesting thing going on here is the federal government is working on eroding the second amendment (as well as the rest of them) but the leaders of many states are working hard to expand second amendment right to their citizens, most but not all states that is.

Is the peoples voice not being heard at the white house anymore??

I have a question that I have never had a answer given to yet. Since each state has its own constitution and within that constitution has their version of the second amendment, If the federal second amendment is abolished and is no longer enumerated, does the states still have the power individually recognize its own second amendment in that state?

    • I see what you are saying, and I’m not sure about the constitutional law part.

But I do believe the Federal Gov knows what we are saying, they are just so corrupt they don’t care. The Gov. wants all the power, and they know they must take guns away to complete their corrupt agenda.

  7. PEOPLE! Use the power of your vote to get rid of anti-gun nuts in office. Start in NOV. Retire Obama!!Then concentrate on NY, NJ, Calif. etc. etc. The VOTE is our sword!

  8. Hey Dustin, my wife and I still think you are one if the greatest contestant ever on the show and are glad to see you share your love of the lord on the show.

You continue to win in life with this! As a CA resident facing bills that are progressing into what would be unconstitutional guns laws (sb249) I am outraged at our “leadership” and amazed that you have brought their plan into light!

  9. Thank you Dustin, for your words and for your now public persona. You conduct yourself in a quiet, courteous and polite way that makes gun owners like me feel I am not alone, nor do I have to hide the fact that I own firearms. Unfortunately I live in California so that last one is still a dream. Thanks for standing up on this one and btw, your speed reloads on pistol are awesome.

  10. Correct me if im wrong but dont vehicles kill more people in America each year than firearms. Why dosent the governtment ban vehicles if they were intrested in the saftey of the citzen. Oh wait thats because we cant use car to keep a tyranical government in check. Just like cocane and other drugs they are illegal but that dosent stop people from getting those. So how do gun bans ruduce crime. Oh yea they dont

  11. Loved the Article. It’s too bad your fellow top shot contender Chee Kwan doesn’t feel the same way about gun rights. Hope to meet you again if Mark has another Range day.
