The Truth About Guns contributor and competitive shooter Nick “Foghorn” Leghorn provides an update on his lost-and-found second place win at the LSSA 3-gun event.
Plus video coolness.
I’m a competitive person by nature. So when I fail at something, it annoys me greatly. My solution to alleviating that annoyance is more practice and doing better the next time, but there’s something that annoys me even more than failing: improper scorekeeping. So when the final results for the recent LSSA 3-gun came out and my name was nowhere on the list, I was naturally a bit peeved .
I had figured that I was in the running for one of the top spots, but my name wasn’t called at the award ceremony. Upon further review, there was an issue with the scoring system and it turns out that even with my disasterous stage 7 result, I should have walked away with the 2nd place trophy.
That situation’s being resolved now that the scores have been corrected and my scorecards have been tallied. Just thought it was worth a quick update, in case those who read the original version of my account of the competition wanted to know the final results.
