State Rep. Matt Krause’s bill to let Texas law officers enforce only the firearms regulations on the books in this state is no barrier to federal heavy-handedness and absurd enforcement practices.
The measure, dubbed the “Come and Take It” Firearms Protection Bill, was approved by the House of Representatives last week.
“My bill completely respects the federal government’s *right* and ability to make and enforce its own laws,” said Krause, R-Fort Worth. “Federal law is the supreme law of the land and HB928 does nothing to refute that; however, my bill does make it clear that where federal laws do not align with state laws, Texas will not spend its resources and time enforcing those laws for them.”
