Secret Service agents seize fake government credentials, guns and ammunition from a Houma man’s home.
In a joint investigation with the U.S. Secret Service, the Louisiana State Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Terrebonne Parish deputies booked Michael Hebert with more than 20 gun violations.
In a search of Hebert’s home, Secret Service agents say they found counterfeit badges and credentials that represented Hebert as a federal agent. They confiscated credentials for the F.B.I., C.I.A. and U.S. Secret Service.
Investigators brought in the Louisiana State Police bomb squad to remove and destroy suspected explosive devices, which turned out to be fakes.
Investigators say the search also turned up 19 firearms and a thousand rounds of ammunition.
Hebert is booked with possession of an illegal weapon, 19 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 10 counts of unlawful possession of fraudulent documents and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
