Greenwood County, South Carolina, deputies said a man in a deer stand shot and killed a fellow hunter, thinking he was a wild hog.Deputies found the victim lying near a deer stand where 25-year-old Lucas Brickweg of Satellite Beach, FL, had been before the shooting.
Deputies said the victim’s brother, who lives in the Upstate, told them Brickweg shot his brother, thinking he was a wild hog. The victim’s other brother told deputies the same thing.
Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox identified the victim as 51-year-old Robert Iselin Jr., of Jacksonville, FL.
The investigation was handed over to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, who arrested and charged Brickweg with criminal use of a firearm and having no hunting license. DNR officials said the shooting was still under investigation.
