A $7.1 million land sale has been completed for a planned state park in North Texas.
The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department on Tuesday announced it has closed on the purchase of more than 3300 acres of Cross Timbers region land.
The purchase involves property that straddles the Palo Pinto-Stephens County line near Strawn about 70 miles southwest of Fort Worth. State employees said an agreement is in the works to use Tucker Lake in the planned state park.
No projected opening date has been announced.
Funds for the purchase came from the 2008 sale of Eagle Mountain Lake State Park.
