Something strange is going on at Lake Naconiche.
The strangeness here is linked to a biological glitch that recently showed up in the lake’s Florida bass fishery. Apparently, the turbo-charged fish stocked in the lake over the last few years haven’t fared near as well in the lake as Texas Parks and Wildlife Department scientists had hoped they would.
For those who may not have heard of Lake Naconiche, it is the newest of the new in Texas’ huge stable of public reservoirs. Located in northeastern Nacogdoches County along a spring-fed creek that carries the same name, 692-acre Naconiche is scheduled to open to the public for fishing on Sept. 1, 2012.
