Man arrested for letting dogs “savage” deer

A man has been jailed for letting three hunting dogs savage a deer and filming the attack.

Jay Zeuner, 29, of Naracoorte in the south-east of South Australia posted the video online.

He pleaded guilty in the Magistrates Court to ill-treating an animal to cause death or serious harm.

Last January, Zeuner set three large hunting dogs on the deer at Kingston and put the video of the attack on Facebook.

Magistrate Paul Foley said the video went for almost two minutes and showed the dogs savaging the deer at the throat.
