A great stocking stuffer this Christmas would be a golden ticket to more than 90 Texas state parks. The Texas State Parks Pass gift card grants the cardholder, and as many guests they can fit in their car, free entry to any state park for 12 months. The card can be purchased in any amount and works like cash in state parks, which allow it to be used towards entrance fees, facility use, store merchandise, and much more. Commemorative Texas State Parks Christmas ornaments are also available for purchase this holiday season. This year’s ornaments pay tribute to the CCC-era reconstruction of Mission Espiritu Santo at Goliad State Park, legendary Enchanted Rock, and the Wyler Aerial Tramway at Franklin Mountains State Park. Each wooden ornament features an example of the natural, cultural and historical resources that TPWD serves and protects. Ornaments from previous years are also available, and prices vary. A TPWD Magazine subscription would be an ideal gift for any family member or friend who appreciates engaging imagery and stories about the animals, plants and parks around the state. The magazine has been one of the state’s premier outdoors publication for more than 70 years and there are special offers online, including two gift subscriptions for $20 or a one-year subscription for only $10.
For the art lover in your life, collector’s editions of the 2012 and 2013 hunting and fishing stamps are available for $21.65. Each edition includes a collection of six different stamps designed by noted wildlife artists and each purchase helps support TPWD conservation efforts. The stamp artwork may be purchased as an unframed stamp and print, or as a framed unit through the Collector’s Covey.
Let your eco-friendly friends and relatives do something for the outdoors by buying them one of TPWD’s custom license plates that highlight the bluebonnet, a white-tailed buck, largemouth bass, and the newest design, a campsite. Each plate costs only $30, and $22 goes directly to help fund conservation efforts in Texas. The conservation license plates have generated more than $4 million in sales for Texas land and water conservation initiatives since its inception.
