Storm chaser Ricky Forbes was on the trail of some violent weather in a Canadian national park in British Columbia when he spotted something more interesting than a potential tornado — a momma bear realizing that one of her cubs had wandered onto a highway.
As cars whizzed past, Forbes grabbed his camera and captured the moment mom snagged her cub and brought the little bear back to safety.
Closer examination of the video shows that mom had her hands full. While the rescued bear is being dropped on the safe side of the highway barrier, a second bear cub can be seen peeking over the concrete barrier.
