Anti-Hunting Activists Up In Arms Over Photo Of Steven Spielberg Next To ‘Poor Dead Animal’

See anything outrageous about this photo? Some animal rights activists did.

The photo was posted from Jay Branscomb’s Facebook page as satire. Branscomb was poking fun at the controversy surrounding Kendall Jones’ hunting of exotic animals.

“Disgraceful photo of recreational hunter happily posing next to a Triceratops he just slaughtered. Please share so the world can name and shame this despicable man.”

In case you haven’t already figured it out: The photo was taken on the set of the critically acclaimed movie Jurassic Park. However, it being based on complete fantasy didn’t stop it from receiving over 6,000 comments on Facebook as well as 30,000 shares.

Here are some reactions from people who didn’t appreciate Spielberg putting down the extinct dinosaur.

One Facebook user was somewhat skeptical, and rightly so. One user asked, “Is that real?”

Another had to express the barbarism of Spielberg’s “alleged” act. Another user commented, “Steven Spielberg has absolutely no respect for animals. Posing infront [sic] of this poor dead animal like that. Barbaric.”

This guy recommended a way to preserve the non-existent dinosaur species. He wrote, “if these animals are so rare they should be moved to a reservation where it’s illegal to kill them.”

Then, this conversation happened. A user pointed out: “That’s Steven Spielberg, director of Jurassic Park!” That got the response: “I don’t care who he is he should not have shot that animal.”

And this user had some choice words for Spielberg. Some of the rant: “He’s a disgusting inhumane [bleep] Id love to see these hunters be stopped…I think zoos are the best way to keep animals safe…[bleep]holes like this piece of [bleep] are going into these beautiful animals HOME and killing them… its no different than someone coming into your home and murdering you…” [Etc.]

Luckily, the majority of people who commented on Branscomb’s post understood that the photo was fake. Let’s just give the others the benefit of the doubt that they haven’t seen Jurassic Park yet.
