King Mackerel – South Padre Island

Courtney Bishop was sight casting for Spanish Mackerel around the third sand bar off of South Padre Island and hooked into this King Mackerel! There was a huge bait ball and the Spanish Mackerel were having a feeding frenzy, this big King was hanging just a little below them. It was on very light tackle and took about 20 minutes to get it to the boat.
