SAN ANTONIO — Today, the deer industry in Texas is larger than the citrus and rice industries, and the Texas Deer Association (TDA) is geared up to host the largest deer event in the State of Texas. The TDA announces its 16th Annual TDA Convention & Fundraiser will be held on August 7, 2014, through August 9, 2014, at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.

The annual event attracts thousands of deer enthusiasts from across the United States, Canada and Mexico, and always provides a wide variety of opportunities for continued education, networking and camaraderie for industry professionals.

The TDA Convention & Fundraiser showcases exhibitors and new products from the hunting and deer industries; fund-raising auctions that include whitetail and exotic hunts, firearms and hunting equipment; educational seminars and round table discussions; antler contest, casino night, poker tournament, washer tournament, golf tournament, photo contest, ladies fashion show, fun youth activities and much more.

“Our annual convention is the largest, most highly anticipated event in the Texas deer industry. There is no other single venue in the state — and indeed the nation — that brings together greater collective experience, knowledge and passion for whitetail and mule deer,” says says Karl Kinsel, executive director for the Texas Deer Association. “We’re very excited to welcome the thousands of deer breeders, game managers and wildlife enthusiasts to another fun and educational event.”

Founded in 1999, the TDA is the only non-profit organization solely committed to improving the quality of Texas deer herds through better habitat practices, modern harvest strategies and use of superior deer to enhance the herds. As a part of its public education efforts, the TDA produces a full-color bimonthly publication, Tracks Magazine, which updates TDA members on current industry news, deer genetics and game management issues.
