Alligator eats puppy in front of Orlando pet owner

ORLANDO, Fla. – The hunt is on in Orlando for an alligator that devoured a pit bull puppy.

Eric Glover, the dog’s owner, said his dog, King, was eaten about 7:30 a.m. Monday as they took a morning walk in their west Orlando neighborhood, reports WFTV. The alligator attacked after Glover released King from his lease to chase birds.

“A gator just came out and just took him whole – took him under the water and everything,” Glover told WFTV.

“I couldn’t do nothing,” he said. “I froze, and I am like, ‘Oh, my God. That is a gator.’ Like, my instincts, ‘That is a gator eating my dog.’ I was shocked.”

Glover said his puppy never made a sound during the quick attack.

“I don’t even think he knew he was hit,” he said. “It was like that quick.”

A fisherman, Bobby Crapps, told the station he witnessed the moments after the attack.

“If he snatched my dog, I would have to go snatch him,” Crapps said.

Glover said he’s leaving revenge to the professionals. Trappers had not found the animal by Monday afternoon.
