Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America says they are “prepared to fight” the passage of open carry legislation in the state of Texas.
Breitbart News previously reported that on November 5–the day after the midterm elections–Texas Governor-elect Greg Abbott (R) gave a press conference in which he made it clear he will sign a bill to legalize the open carry of handguns as soon as the legislature passes it.
Within days, Texas state Representative James White (R-Dist. 19) answered the call and put forward HB 164–a bill which would give everyone with a concealed carry permit the option to carry their handguns openly if they so choose. This is how the open carry law in Missouri works.
And state Representative Jonathan Strickland (R-Dist. 92) introduced legislation that would allow Texans to carry openly without a permit, which is how the open carry law in Mississippi works.
San Antonio’s WOAI reports that Moms Demand Action is ready to fight the passage of both these bills. The Bloomberg-funded gun control group claims open carry “will make it a lot tougher for police to tell the ‘good guys’ from the ‘bad guys’ on city streets.”
