An overwhelming majority of Texans voted to approve NRA-backed Proposition 6 today and established a constitutional right to hunt and fish.
“Proposition 6 ensures that wildlife conservation and management decisions are based on sound science so the proud outdoor heritage of Texas will be preserved for generations to come,” said Chris Cox, executive director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “The NRA is proud to have led this fight to protect sportsmen and conservationists throughout the state from future attacks by well-funded, anti-hunting campaigns. On behalf of the 5 million members of the NRA, I want to thank State Sen. Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe) and State Rep. Trent Ashby (R-Lufkin) for their leadership on this amendment.”
