In Corpus Christi Bob Hall and Red Dot were listed as good piers, but like just any fishing location, they could be hit and miss. “I know Red Dot produces Flounder and Reds in the fall, never been to Corpus in the Summer,” was one response.
Another angler who liked the same piers listed convenience and species of fish caught. “Bob hall pier is my preference. It has more space than the other piers in the area and has more diverse species to choose from. There has been reds/black drum over the last few weeks, and with the water clearing/warming up it should be turned on.”

Walter Umphrey State Park Fishing Pier is still somewhat unknown to the general public. But to anglers, it is one of the top local fishing spots in all of Southeast Texas, especially if you love Redfish. It’s packed out on most weekends, with fishermen from all around. Get there early for night fishing. It has camping facilities, decent restrooms, baitshop across the street, plenty of room, very good lighting and people up all night fishing. The tides here move out until about 11pm most nights, so the fishing stays active.

61st Street Fishing Pier in Galveston is an angler favorite. As with most of the piers, you can fish day or night. “I was fishing here for about 8 hours with my cousin and it was amazing! It started out slow but once we moved spots the fishing was amazing. There was a bunch of older people, and their fishing stories were the greatest. We ended the day with catching 16 fish all together…defiantly will come back”

Keepers at Horace Caldwell Pier has always been known as one of the best and most productive fishing piers along mid coast Texas. The concrete Pier stretches 1230 feet out into the Gulf. The most recent record fish was an 11′ 7″ Tiger Shark caught on Memorial Day 2003. Anglers catch pompano, tarpon, kingfish, shark, speckled trout, redfish, black drum, and catfish.
