Hyskore Degreezer™ Small Parts Cleaning Tank: Texas Tested Review

For years I have been sent to the garage or the back porch for gun cleaning duty by my wife as it is sometimes a messy and, many times, strong smelling process. At SHOT Show this past January, I stopped by the Hyskore booth to see what was new with Ted Werner’s shooting products and accessories. Ted never disappoints and this was no exception. The prototype he showed me this year was this small gray parts cleaning tank, designed for containing and cleaning small gun parts. I immediately thought, “Why didn’t I think about this? It’s brilliant!” Ted did it again – another awesome gun cleaning accessory had to have. This may not look like much from the outside but the inside is where the magic happens.

First of all, on the side is a mount for a brush and, included with the package, comes a double tipped cleaning brush for cleaning small gun parts. There are different sizes of brushes on each end. I am glad they threw that in because I am bad about losing brushes. The brush holder keeps the brush right where you need it for storage or just to keep all your cleaning stuff together in one place.

On the inside you can tell that a lot of attention to detail was taken. There is a parts basket which fits in the lowest part of the tank for soaking gun parts in solvents or other cleaning fluid and, most importantly, keeping everything together so you don’t have to fish through the solvent to find all of your parts after the soaking process. For the dirty work, you can scrub parts on the angled cleaning surface which acts kind if like a ramp going down to the lowest part of the tank. I have found this to be a perfect addition to my gun cleaning arsenal. Say you’re field stripping an AR-15 rifle or a 1911 handgun. You never have to worry about losing parts as everything is contained in this tank. I have found it much harder to lose a part with this cleaning system than with other ways I have cleaned tiny assembly parts or accessories in the past. The tank is constructed from polypropylene and is resistant to just about and solvent you might use.

There are many retailers that carry this cleaning tank and I highly recommend it as a great addition to your cleaning stash. While you check out this product, don’t forget about all of Hyskore’s other products. They have many different models of gun rests that will keep you solid as a rock at the range. Personally, I never leave home on a trip to the shooting range without my Hyskore Rapid Fire Precision Shooting Rest. I own several other shooting rests for Hyskore and have been very satisfied with all of their products. Be sure to check out the cleaning tank at your favorite online retailer and Hyskore’s other products at www.hyskore.com.
