SHOT Show 2018: Franklin Armory Binary Trigger

Franklin Armory Binary Trigger

Dustin Ellerman tested the Franklin Armory Binary Trigger, while making the rounds at Range Day, during the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

Here’s what he thought about the experience:

“Dustin Ellerman here, with Texas Fish & Game magazine and we’re at the SHOT Show industry range day where we get to shoot the cool stuff. So this is a good day!

“Right here we’re in the Franklin Armory booth and I wanted to demo their new binary trigger.

“And so, if you’re not familiar with binary triggers, here’s how they work. The trigger fires once when you pull and then it fires once again on your release.

So we’re going to check this bad boy out! I’ve not done this before.

After taking a few test shots:

“All right. So I was going a bit slow, to get used to it. Now let’s go fast.”

He fired off a series of near-full auto shots, then laughed with joy.

“Yes! Sweet!”

After several double-tap bursts:

“Oh, that was over quick! Yeah so just push and pull Double taps, never been faster.”

The Franklin Armory Binary Trigger is a simple accessory that simulates automatic fire on a standard AR platform.

The 2018 SHOT Show was held in late January in Las Vegas. Hundreds of shooting and hunting industry manufacturers were on hand to display new products for 2018 and beyond. The Industry Range Day was located on a sprawling shooting range facility just outside of Bolder, Nevada.

Texas Fish & Game Tactical Editor Dustin Ellermann and Contributing Editor Dustin Warncke attended Range Day and had a literal field day testing dozens of new firearms, accessories, ammo and other great gear, including a crossbow.
