Ninety-Yard Test Fire with an Excalibur Assassin Crossbow
Dustin Ellermann test fired an Excalibur Assassin crossbow at 90 yards. Ellermann, Texas Fish & Game’s Tactical Editor was at Range Day for the 2018 Shot Show.
Here’s how it went down:
“Alright guys, Dustin here with Texas Fish & Game magazine at the SHOT Show industry range day and we’re changing gears from the loud stuff to a super quiet one.
“We have a crossbow here, the Excalibur Assassin. Take a look at it, and first thing you’ll say is, Wait, it’s like a recurve. And yeah, so they’ve got a recurve crossbow that shoots up to 360 feet per second.
“And I know that you might be thinking, like how do you cock that? They have their new silent crank system. It’s got like a safety wrist strap and everything else.
“And we’re gonna try to put a shot at 90 yards with it.
“So, let’s see okay. Any safeties on here? There’s the red. Okay, we’re gonna see if we can get it in that 90 yarder. All right nice two-stage trigger.”
He lets a bolt fly and then lets out a whoop.
“That’s awesome. I totally like a lobbed it right in the center of the target. That’s cool!
“Sweet! I love seeing that bolt fly. I mean there’s no recoil. It doesn’t move. You can just watch it fly into the target.
That’s fun for long-range stuff!”
The 2018 SHOT Show was held in late January in Las Vegas. Hundreds of shooting and hunting industry manufacturers were on hand to display new products for 2018 and beyond. The Industry Range Day was located on a sprawling shooting range facility just outside of Bolder, Nevada.
Texas Fish & Game Tactical Editor Dustin Ellermann and Contributing Editor Dustin Warncke attended Range Day and had a literal field day testing dozens of new firearms, accessories, ammo and other great gear.
