Gulf Council Seeking Input

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (www.gulfcouncil.org) has issued a Request for Proposals for the development of a Fishery Ecosystem Plan. GMFMC is seeking a qualified contractor to design and execute the development of a full Fishery Ecosystem Plan (FEP) to support ecosystem-based fishery management in the Gulf of Mexico. The selected contractor will work with Council staff to outline and prioritize management goals of the group provide background information of the ecological and socioeconomic topics to consider, and identify the steps to reach the specific goals identified.

This is a 12-month project and $300,000 is available to fund the work.

Proposals Submission Deadline: January 4, 2021

The GMFMC is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. GMFMC prepares fishery management plans, which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
