Texas Fish & Game is currently prowling the (very long) hallways at the 2016 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. With tens of thousands of products on display the show can be a bit overwhelming to cover but we go in with a plan.
Our goal is to find the cutting-edge products and the practical ones our audience can use and afford. There will be many more posts forthcoming but here are a couple of things that caught our eye today.
We were impressed with the CZ Drake, an affordable and highly functional over/under shotgun. Using the same CNCed action and internals as our their shotguns, the Drake features extractor operation, single selectable trigger, mid-rib delete and laser-cut checkering. It is available in 12 and 20 gauges with 28″ barrels.
One of those products is the Spot GEN3, an amazing device that uses satellite technology to do everything from send messages to a list of friends to come help you drag a buck out of the woods or send your location via satellite to emergency services. Texas hunters spend time in rugged country and in the rough waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We can see this being an indispensable tool.
Aquila’s Minishell have already been field tested by TFG and that review will be in an upcoming edition. They greatly increase the capacity of pump-action guns and are great for use as low recoil ammunition.
