No stranger to catching big speckled trout, Texas native, Fred Murray, has crafted a new and innovative way to commemorate and exhibit your catch of a lifetime all while promoting catch and release with his one-of-a-kind resin creation; the Corky Cube.
Murray creates a Corky Cube by suspending an angler’s lure of choice into a 5”x 5” cube of resin. Once cured, Murray installs an LED light of your color preference into a handcrafted 1” wooden base that the cube lays on top of. The LED beams from underneath the lure and projects light onto walls and ceilings. Corky Cubes make a great addition to a trophy room or any room for that matter. Seeing is believing and the hours of fine craftsmanship exhibit themselves once the Corky Cube is completed and displayed.
Murray’s work has caught the attention of anglers, fishing guides and regular folks up and down the Texas coast; even that of Mr. Paul Brown himself. “When he actually ordered 3 cubes after the first one I made for him as a gift, I was stoked that the man himself wanted to actually spend money on some cubes for his friends and family. Someone came by my booth at an expo recently and told me Mr. Brown took him upstairs just to see the cube I gave him. That’s a pretty big milestone for me.”
