“Turn In All Assault Rifles and High-Cap Magazines” ~ Sen. Feinstein

What is an “Assault Weapon”?
November 11, 2012

We have been warned time and again about the coming political attempts to dissolve the 2nd Amendment.  After the election, everything kicked into hyperdrive.

Hours after Obama’s victory news broke out about the US being back into UN Arms Trade Treaty talks.  This is the same treaty we have already defeated twice before because it’s language cleary infringes on the 2nd Amendment.  It not only by regulates import/export trade, but further would enact an international small arms registration extending to the end user (that’s us, individual gun owners).  This would pave the way for total confiscation.

Then, news leaked out about a meeting Senator Feinstein (D-CA) had with the BATFE.  Looks like they are on the war path to ban all “assault rifles* and high capacity magazines”.

I don’t have the minutes of the meeting (yet), but sources tell me California Senator and longtime gun-hater Dianne Feinstein’s legal staff held meetings on Friday with FTB/ATF legal staff to discuss a new “Assault Weapons Ban” Madame Feinstein would be looking to push through Congress if President Obama wins reelection.

This same “pretty good intelligence” says the items that would lead to a ban would ban pistol grips and “high-capacity” magazines, eliminate any grandfathering and ban sales of “weapons in possession”.

I don’t know about you, but if these things come to pass and I’m “in possession” I’m certainly not selling.

In fact, the lack of interest in the idea surprised the California liberal’s legal staffers. Apparently, they believe no logical person could possible disagree with them.

I began receiving the first reports of increases in gun buying by people concerned about tomorrow’s election. Dealers in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Indiana all tell me there hasn’t been a huge number of buyers expressing those concerns, but the numbers were noticeable.

Among that group -and the majority of “regular” purchasers- the core driving most of the purchasing seem to be in their mid-to-late 30s. Again, home and personal defense are the most frequently cited reasons for buying.

The “Assault Weapons Ban” is something that every gun owner should be afraid of.  Too often folks say, “Well I don’t have an AR15, what do I care?”  The AWB is only the beginning, and it only bans guns on cosmetics, not function.  This new ban will be permanent  and even more strict than the 1994-2004 Clinton Ban.

Australia lost everything within 2 weeks with a knee jerk reaction to a mass murder.  Currently citizens may not own firearms at all without being permitted by the government for a “Genuine Reason” to own one.  And even if you can get that permit it is limited to non semi-automatic rimfires and shotguns (not pump or semi-autos).

This is where we draw the line, don’t give them an inch or we will be giving them everything.

*Clarification- “Assault Rifles” (machine guns by definition) have been heavily restricted since 1934, banned production for civilian ownership since 1986. Once again, anti-gunners don’t know what they are banning, more on that later.  The term “Assault Rifles” is only included in the title as a quote.*
