This video provided a number of years ago from the University of Texas Marine Science Institute gives a rare look at what a southern flounder strike looks like.
And for the record, the flounder in the video is a huge one.

Black drum have plenty of pulling power, and they can get quite sizable, to boot.
The author caught this huge flounder on Lake Calctsieu during the latter part of November using curl-tailed grubs.
