A few days ago we reported O.H. Ivie has a new pending lake record largemouth bass.
“Angler Brodey Davis just weighed one of the largest Texas ShareLunkers to hit the scales in the past 30 years!! His 17.06 pound Legacy Class bass is the pending new lake record for lake O.H. Ivie and one of the top 10 Texas largemouth bass of all time. Wow! Congratulations, Brodey and thank you for your support of the future of Texas fisheries!” reported Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) officials on their official Facebook page.
UPDATE
Well, another massive bass was caught at Ivie AFTER the 17-pound behemoth.
“Kyle Hall just landed another top 50 largemouth from O.H. Ivie! SL624 tipped the scales at 16.10 pounds and is the 3rd fish in the past week to break the top 50 Texas largemouth!” TPWD reported on their Facebook page.
The fish was caught Feb. 24.
To make things even more interesting Ivie is not the only fish with a possible new lake record largemouth that hit the top 50.
According to TPWD on Feb. 27, Robert Bandy caught another top 50 Texas largemouth bass from Eagle Mountain Lake.
“She weighed in at 16.00 pounds and is the pending new lake record by almost 3 pounds””
The Sharelunker program is having an epic year and we will have more on other giant bass being caught around the state in the coming days.
