Bajio, maker of blue-light filtering, sustainable performance sunglasses built to save the world’s saltwater flats and estuaries, has released its new 2022 frames.

Sunglasses are the heart of Bajío, providing customers with lightweight, bio-based nylon frames featuring proprietary LAPIS™ lens technology.

These new fashionable, fishable, 6-base unisex frames are packed with performance features including interior sun
ledges designed to block peripheral light, ergo-textured no-slip rubber nose pads and temples to stay in place, and
multi-barrel and internal flex hinges–all available in various temple and frame sizes to fit every face shape
comfortably.

Bajío’s new line includes five frame styles made from plants, so not only are they gentle on the planet, but they’re also stronger and lighter than plastic frames. Lightweight frames equate to all-day comfort – whether you’re out fishing or at the fiesta.

For a fully-customizable eyewear experience, the new line also features thirteen lens options: seven lens colors made from lightweight polycarbonate and six made from glass. Both offer durable anti-scratch properties and oleophobic coatings making sunscreen and water easy to remove.

Frames with glass lenses retail for $249, while frames with polycarbonate lenses retail for $199. Prescription lenses are also available.

Customers are able to choose from seven custom-developed lens colors, each designed for specific light conditions and
environments—featuring exceptional clarity, the latest in lens technology, and providing a visual experience that is second to none.

“We’re really stoked about the new frames our design crew has created this year! We think of these styles as sort of ‘reverse mullet party in the front and business in the back,” said Al Perkinson, Founder of Bajio.

“They have a moderate wrap, which allows us to give them more style in the front while also having built-in sun protection in the back. We’re calling this new feature our Sun Ledge. Our younger, more fashion-forward anglers will enjoy that they not only look cool, but they also have the performance elements needed for handling long days on the water.”

Carbon neutral from inception, Bajío’s sunglasses are made with sustainability at the forefront and complement banner days on the flats and beyond.
