Did you know Texas has a variety of billfish living off of its coast?
We thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the records of the billfish species caught over the years to show the diversity and size of fish off Texas.
And while most of these are caught far offshore, there have been sailfish for example caught within a mile of the jetties at both Port Aransas and Port Isabel in the past.
Crazy, huh?
Check out this cool list that details a long history of billfish caught off of Texas.
