Info Sought On Unusual Encounters In Trinity Bay, Old.& Lost River & Big Thicket Areas

A recent episode of the Dark Outdoors podcast sponsored by Texas Fish & Game got a big response from Texas outdoors lovers with several interesting notes sent by listeners.

So, I am using this to solicit similar reports if they exist.

Here’s the show incase you missed.

Seeking reports of strange encounters with primitive-looking people in Texas, especially around the Trinity Bay and Big Thicket National Preserve areas. Over the years, locals and travelers have reported sightings of individuals who seem to live off the grid, disconnected from modern society, often described as “primitive” or “feral.” These encounters frequently occur in remote areas, particularly near the Old and Lost River, and often involve people dressed in old-fashioned clothing, living in isolated conditions. Some have even connected them to lost tribal people who were reported by multiple sources into the 1980s.

Descriptions suggest these individuals may be part of hidden communities or simply reclusive people who have chosen a secluded, survivalist lifestyle. Some accounts even mention sightings of people who resemble early settlers, leading to speculation about hidden or forgotten communities.

If you or someone you know has encountered individuals like this in the Texas wilderness, especially those exhibiting unusual or survivalist behavior, your insights could help shed light on these mysteries. Firsthand accounts could help piece together a clearer picture of who these people are and how they live in isolation. Please share any observations or unusual experiences in these areas.
