Gulf Great White Sharks, is committed to inspiring and educating children about the ocean and its incredible creatures.
That’s why it’s partnering with Wild Wishes® to bring shark educational gift packages to children who are facing challenges such as depression, loneliness, critical illness, and parental loss.
“We believe that learning about sharks can spark hope, curiosity, and excitement, even in the most difficult times. Through this initiative, we will be physically mailing special shark-themed educational gift packages to children who need encouragement and inspiration. These packages will include books, learning materials, fun gifts, and conservation information—all designed to engage young minds and help them feel connected to the natural world,” said founder Chester Moore.
Moore who is Texas Fish & Game Editor-In-Chief was inspired by the huge turnout not only of a large crowd but kids to his Gulf Great Whites seminar at the Houston Fishing Show.
“We at TF&G love the Houston Fishing Show and when I got to hear the feedback from families about the great white seminar I knew I wanted to do something special,” Moore said.
Since 2022, we have Wild Wishes® has hosted in-person experiences such as shark cage snorkeling trips at the Texas State Aquarium and a catch-and-release shark fishing adventure in Biscayne Bay, Florida. Last summer it was the outreach’s “Summer of the Shark” sponsored by CCA-Texas.
“These opportunities have allowed kids to see and appreciate these great creatures up close. However, we recognize that not every child can travel for these experiences, so we are expanding our reach by sending shark gifts directly to them,” Moore said.
