What’s The Weirdest Trail Camera Photos You Have?

Texas Fish & Game is calling on outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, landowners, and trail-camera fanatics across Texas and beyond to send in their strangest, funniest, and most unbelievable trail-camera photos and videos. If you’ve captured something weird, wild, or completely unexpected, this is your chance to show it off — and everyone who submits will receive a free Dark Outdoors® decal.

Check out this video of a black coyote or is it a black wolf?  Have you seen one of these?

Trail cameras have become one of the most fascinating tools for wildlife watchers. From monitoring deer movements to tracking predators, these cameras often capture things we never knew were out there. But some images go far beyond the ordinary — mysterious creatures, rare wildlife behavior, humorous moments, unexpected visitors, and even unexplained phenomena. Texas Fish & Game wants to showcase exactly what these cameras are picking up across the state and around the country.

Whether your game camera snapped a trophy buck, a bobcat striking a dramatic pose, a raccoon doing something hilarious, or something so strange you can’t quite explain it, we want to see it. The goal is to build a collection that highlights the diversity, mystery, and excitement of what’s happening in the woods — day and night — wherever trail cameras are running.

How to Submit Your Trail-Camera Footage

Submitting your photos or videos is simple:

  1. Send your strangest trail-camera image or clip to Texas Fish & Game to cmoore@fishgame.com.

  2. Include your name and mailing address so we can send you a free Texas Fish & Game decal.

  3. Feel free to add any background details — location (general areas only), date, or the story behind the capture.

This project aims to celebrate outdoor culture while giving readers a glimpse into the unseen world wildlife cameras reveal. By gathering submissions from all over Texas and beyond, Texas Fish & Game hopes to showcase the full spectrum of what today’s high-quality trail cameras are capable of catching in an article before year’s end.

If your trail camera has captured something wild, weird, or wonderfully memorable, send it in today and claim your free decal. You never know — your unusual capture might be featured next!
