Moore Honored For Great White Shark Work & More

Texas Fish & Game Editor-In-Chief Chester Moore and founder of the Gulf Great White Shark Society received multiple honors at the Texas Outdoor Writers Association Excellence in Craft Awards held in Rockport, Texas May 2.

For the second year in a row, GulfGreatWhites.com was recognized as Best Website, earning top placement among a competitive group of established outdoor platforms.

In the video category, Gulf Great White Sharks: Return of an Icon received first place for Best Video. The documentary was written, produced, and narrated by Moore, in collaboration with Paul Fuzinski of Aptitude Outdoors, who served as videographer and editor on the project.

Moore also earned first place in three additional categories, including for writing for the Wild Sheep Foundation and recognition for his Dark Outdoors podcast, and placed in two others.

Reflecting on the awards, Moore said:

“I am extremely grateful and humbled to be honored by TOWA, such a great organization, and to have the opportunity to compete with such great outdoor media people. This inspires me to work even harder. This year was very special winning for something I care so much about, which is work on great white sharks.”

These recognitions highlight ongoing work by Moore and the Gulf Great White Shark Society to share information and stories related to great white sharks and other large sharks in the Gulf.
