Screwworm Updates
I WANT TO THANK Texas Fish & Game for staying on top of the screwworm issue in your newsletter [The Fish & Game Report]. A lot of hunters and ranchers around here don’t realize how devastating these pests can be if they make their way back unchecked. It’s not always the “fun” stuff like deer or bass, but it’s just as important, and I’m glad you’re giving it space.

YOUR COVERAGE on screwworms is spot-on. I grew up hearing my grandfather’s stories about how bad things were before the eradication program. It’s good to know somebody is reminding the next generation that this is more than a footnote. This is something we have to keep watching. Keep up the great work.

Speckled Coverage
NOBODY COVERS speckled trout like you do. The mix of biology, conservation, and real-world fishing reports is the best I’ve seen anywhere. Other outlets gloss over the issues, but you dive in and still keep it exciting for anglers who just want to get on the water. That balance is why I keep reading.
