It would seem that we are again unable to get away from the giant recall machine. This week it’s 651,000 Jeeps and Dodge SUVs and 92,000 Ford vehicles. Here are the specifics:

Chrysler

2011 – 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2011 – 2014 Dodge Durange

Vanity mirror lights (lighted sunvisor)  that have undergone repairs can short circuit and start a fire if not assembled correctly.  Three injuries have been caused but this is only a precaution to assure that the issue is completely handled.  Original owners will be notified by Chrysler, but you should contact the company if you have purchased either of these vehicles used.

Ford

2013 – 2014 Ford Taurus, police interceptor sedans and Flex

2013 – 2014 Lincoln MKT, MKS, MKX

2012 – 2014 Ford Edge

The problem is a front right-half shaft which can cost a sudden “loss of the drive function”.

2014 Fiesta (200 vehicles only)

There may be a gas tank leak

2014 Escape (2,100 vehicles only)

A weak bond in the panoramic glass sunroof may leak or break away from the vehicle

Again, Ford will contact the original owner of each of the affected vehicles.  If you have a question, contact Ford or your dealer.
