Tick Shot Trick Shot

Using my Volquartsen Custom .17HMR I decided to see if I could shoot a tick at 100 yards for an impressive trick shot.

This is the same rifle I used on my Wyoming prairie dog hunt, and it has not let me down.

Mounted on top was the Meopta 4-12x 50mm with a not so ideal dot reticle and unadjustable parallax, however I was able to see the golf tee where the tick was glued enough to make the shot.  The Griffin Armament Checkmate kept the A-17 rounds plenty quiet.

While I would love to brag saying I nailed the tick in a single shot, it actually took me a total of 4 to zero in to that tiny target.  I regret not at least showing how far this was with my camera, but I was being lazy with my tripod and I knew my zoom lens wasn’t near good enough to show viewers the tiny tick on a golf tee.

The end results were just as I imagined, perfect blood spray from the tick full of blood.  Now, I just need to figure out how to shoot a flea next time
