“This is an example of why I want Texas to be a Second-Amendment Sanctuary State”
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted out these words while sharing and pointing to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s sweeping gun control proposal that would do everything from creating a federal registry for firearms to insurance for gun owners.
In a story in the Fort Worth-Star Telegram Abbott said
“Politicians from the federal level to the local level have shouted: ‘Heck yes, the government is coming to get your guns,’” Abbott said, referencing Beto O’Rourke’s remarks during his 2020 Democratic bid for president when he said: “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”
“We won’t let that happen in Texas,” Abbott said. “Last session, I signed 10 laws to protect gun rights in Texas. This session we need to erect a complete barrier against any government office anywhere from treading on gun rights in Texas. Texas must be a Second Amendment sanctuary state.”
Abbott’s statements come at an interesting time when a record amount of gun-control bills have been filed in the Texas House and Senate including controversial “red flag laws”.
Is it safe to say if any gun control did pass through the legislature he would veto them? It sure sounds like it.
Rep. Steve Toth (R-Woodlands) has introduced a bill into the Texas house that partners with Abbott’s stance.

HB 112 would ban law enforcement officers in Texas from enforcing federal gun laws that are stricter than state ones and would. It even goes as far as to make enforcing federal laws stricter than state ones on firearms as an offense.
A person commits an offense if, in the person’s official capacity as an officer of an entity described by Subsection (a), or
as a person employed by or otherwise under the direction or control of the entity, or under color of law, the person knowingly enforces
or attempts to enforce any federal statute, order, rule, or regulation described by Subsection (b). An offense under this
subsection is a Class A misdemeanor.

That federal registry would give every criminal in the country the name and address of every gun owner and address of every gun in the country. The only people that would be safe, would be the criminals. We have to stop this insanely stupid idea immediately. The reason these people get shoot is because they’re not smart enough to protect themselves. And the thought of having to get insurance for owning a way of defending yourself is Ludacris. If you can come up with a way of making a criminal register their guns and pay for insurance, I may be able to get on board with that!
Great Job Governor Abbott please continue fighting for Texas if Texas turns blue we will loose the United States.

Google “Donald Trump Gerald Miller ” read the Washington Post article about civil war. We’re not being divided as a country, we’re being torn apart. We can’t get our homeless off the streets and we’re going to allow millions more to come in. That’s going to make mass home shortages, higher rents and higher cost for homes. Your poverty levels are going to be people making $100,000 a year considered low income. Housing assistance is going to skyrocket. Taxes are going to skyrocket . Where does the insanity end.
