Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed two major gun control bills.

H.R. 1446: This bill revises background check requirements applicable to proposed firearm transfers from a federal firearms licensee (e.g., a licensed gun dealer) to an unlicensed person.

Specifically, it increases the amount of time, from 3 business days to a minimum of 10 business days, that a federal firearms licensee must wait to receive a completed background check prior to transferring a firearm to an unlicensed person. (This type of transaction is often referred to as a default proceed transaction.)

If a submitted background check remains incomplete after 10 business days, then the prospective purchaser may submit a petition for a final firearms eligibility determination. If an additional 10 days elapse without a final determination, then the federal firearms licensee may transfer the firearm to the prospective purchaser.

H.R. 8: This bill establishes new background check requirements for firearm transfers between private parties (i.e., unlicensed individuals).

Specifically, it prohibits a firearm transfer between private parties unless a licensed gun dealer, manufacturer, or importer first takes possession of the firearm to conduct a background check.

The prohibition does not apply to certain firearm transfers, such as a gift between spouses in good faith.

Jason Ouimet, executive director of the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, released the following statement after the passage of the bills.
“These bills are a transparent attempt by gun control advocates in Congress to restrict the rights of law-abiding Americans under the guise of addressing the violent criminal culture in America.  The truth, however, is that neither of these bills will do anything to solve that problem. By giving full power to unelected government bureaucrats to indefinitely delay and prevent lawful firearm transfers, H.R. 1446 could ultimately destroy the Second Amendment rights guaranteed to every law-abiding American by turning it into a privilege enjoyed by a select few.  H.R. 8, so called “universal” background checks, cannot be enforced without a federal gun registry, will not prevent crime, and will turn otherwise law-abiding citizens into criminals for simply loaning a firearm to friends or family members.  If Congress is serious about the safety of law-abiding citizens, it should have passed concealed carry reciprocity so that Americans can safeguard themselves and their families across state lines and throughout our country during these dangerous times.”

All these gun CONTROL laws only take the guns out of the law bidding citizens hands. Criminals will still acquire there guns elsewhere. We , as in the law bidding need to keep our guns to protect ourselves and neighbors against those individuals who threaten us..So go to United Rentaland rent a backhoe so ya’ll can dig your heads out of your ASS…

What a stupid an illogical idea. The sticker says “gun free household.” Translated that is saying “Come and take it… It’s OK….we have no guns in our household.” I stand by my belief. “Democrats and Millennials… The death of the United States.”

I would like to see a list of all of the politicians that voted for this stupid bill. It will certainly have a effect on my future voting. I will never vote for any politician that does not support the FULL constitution of the U.S. In my view, they are all self serving traitors and need to be voted out. Otherwise, you will live your life the way they want you to, not how YOU want to!
