Texas Fish & Game Editor-In-Chief Chester Moore and Texas Fish & Game won big at the Texas Outdoor Writer’s Association (TOWA) awards in Port Arthur last weekend.

Moore received 10 total awards and five first place honors including the following:

*Best Outdoors Magazine (Texas Fish & Game)-1st

*Best Outdoors Website (Fishgame.com)-1st

*Best Outdoors Feature (Great Whites In TX Waters/July 2020 Issue)-1st

Moore also took first place honors for outdoors news coverage for Higher Calling Wildlife and in video for his children’s animated story “Bingo the Christmas” dingo and placed in wildlife photography, radio and several other categories.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization and amongst our peers. TOWA is full of many great writers, photographers, broadcasters and publishers so we don’t take this lightly and hope we can use this to inspire us to dig even deeper into our creativity to bring unique content moving forward in 2021,” Moore said.

The conference was hosted by the Port Arthur TX Visitor’s Bureau and the banquet took place at the Museum of the Gulf Coast.

“It was a great setting for banquet. Our friends at Port Arthur TX Visitor’s Bureau rolled out the red carpet and highlighted a wonderful area of the Gulf Coast on the shores of Sabine Lake,” Moore said.

The primary purpose of TOWA is to improve knowledge and skill among its members in the art of communication through the written or spoken word and through art, illustration and photography. This Association shall also strive to increase public awareness, understanding and appreciation of our outdoor heritage in the use and enjoyment of our natural resources.

   • Promote goodwill among all political parties without the association taking part in any political

     campaign in, or in behalf of, any candidate or political party in any level of government.
