Texas Fish & Game Editor-In-Chief won big at the Press Club of Southeast Texas awards Excellence In Media Awards Saturday night.

He took first place in open column category for his “Meeting Ted Bundy In the Woods” column for Texas Fish & Game.

His “Higher Calling Wildlife” podcast took first place in podcast category and his radio program “Moore Outdoors” on Newstalk AM 560 KLVi took two first place honors-for best talk show and best investigative program.

“It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious, professional organization like the Press Club of Southeast Texas,” Moore said.

“And this year winning for the podcast was super special because I have a ton of work into that. And both the investigative radio category and the column category dealt with the human dangers in the woods topic that has become a passion of mine so that was great,” Moore said.

He also took first place for best social media for his Instagram feed @thechestermoore and best radio public service announcement for his PSA on pink dolphins and other marine mammals in the Gulf of Mexico.

Moore also placed in numerous categories including blog, individual podcast episode and environmental writing which he was recognized for an article that appeared in Hunter’s Horn from the Houston Safari Club Foundation for his article “Wild Sheep Pandemic”.

Moore said the awards inspire him to work harder and to continue doing his best to bring in-depth, passionate wildlife information to readers, listeners in Texas and around the world.
