Louisiana Seeing Numerous Fish Kills

Two East Texas anglers shocked the state with their amazing bowfishing water body record.

Craig Peace and Jesse Fuller had no idea when they launched their boat near Hemphill Tx. that they were about to make history.
The night was not unlike a hundred before for the veteran bowfishing duo. Many fish were shot and the night was on par to be yet another great outing. Around 2AM the fishermen decided to make one more pass through their favorite spot. As they did they came upon a massive fish laying on the bottom in about 4ft of water. 2 arrows soon found their mark and the battle was on.
During the battle the incredible fish managed to snapped one of the 300lb test bowfishing lines so quickly another was rigged and that arrow too found its mark then another. 4 arrows were deep in the monster gar. Then a final arrow was placed in a vital spot behind the head which pretty much put an end to the almost hour long battle.
Once they had her beside the boat the next task was how to land such a massive fish. With the stark realization that they had left their gaff at home as well as rope they had to back up and punt. The only thing in the boat was an old ratchet strap which soon was repurposed into a hoist and the pair were able to land their prize.
The men had managed to arrow a new lake record for Toledo Bend, 7ft 8 in. long with a 48 in girth and weighing in at an astounding 276 pounds.
Congratulations to Craig Peace and Jesse Fuller.
