Delta Waterfowl and the North American Falconers Association have reached agreement to work in partnership to advance the common goals of the organizations. The groups will seek opportunities to collaborate, communicate and advance conservation initiatives important to both duck hunters and falconers.

“This formalized relationship expands our ability to work together on many fronts”, says Sheldon Nicolle, president of NAFA. “We’ll partner to increase awareness and effectiveness of both organizations, provide opportunity to combine shared knowledge and networks, and optimize interaction between the organizations,” he said.

Some falconers pursue ducks with their birds.

NAFA is the world’s largest falconry organization. Though primarily focused on the interests of enthusiasts in the United States, Canada and Mexico, it’s membership is global. NAFA also partners with Dallas Safari Club, North American Grouse Partnership, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Alliance, Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and others in its conservation efforts.

“Delta Waterfowl and NAFA both rely on the volunteerism and funding of grassroots members to make the organizations effective,” said Brad Heidel, senior director of corporate partnerships and advertising sales for Delta Waterfowl. “We are also both focused on promoting science-based decisions when it comes to the future of conservation and waterfowl hunting by all methods. These facts make partnering with NAFA a natural fit for Delta.”

North American Falconers Association was founded in 1961 to encourage proper practice of the sport of falconry and the wise use and conservation of birds of prey. NAFA is very involved with devising regulations on the federal and state levels in the USA and Canada that protect both the birds of prey used in the sport and the sport itself.
